First, Web Services promised that they would change the way services were delivered in 2001, aby the middle fo that decade, we heard how Software as a Service would change the way people purchased software, and finally now as Cloud Services becomes widely adopted, with a fully scalable foundation, we are starting the see a major paradigm shift that wa predicted more than 15 years ago. People are finally starting to understand and trust the internet as reliable delivery platform for computing services, and the 'internet of things' is the new hype. Beyond the PC, the ubiqutios smart phone, the game changing tablet, is the promise of an 'always connected, always on' world of devices and the services to support them.
A lot of things have come together that make the time right, where it was not at the beginning of this decade. With Cloud Computing, we're not looking into the face of a revolution as the marketers would like us to believe.Forget the hype, but don't dismiss the trend thats been building for over 15 years.
